Kit Carson County Watcher Information

Your certificates and forms will need to be presented to me in the County Clerk & Recorder’s Office down from our Election Office for my signature, seal, and the oath. You will need two certificates if you want to watch the VSPC/Signature Vertification and a second on for the ballot processing room.

All of the processing of ballots is done on the second floor of the Kit Carson County Courthouse either in the Elections Office or the Commissioners’ Room where the mailing processing is done.  Mail Processing will begin on Monday, October 31st, at 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. and continue November 1, 3, 4, and 7 at the same times.  The Mail Processing judges will come back to work on Tuesday, November 8th, at 12:30 p.m. until the election are done.

timing transfer of ballots from VSPCs and drop boxes if not every day –  we only have one VSPC and our 24 hour drop box is outside the courthouse and it is picked up at the beginning and end of the work day. On Election Day, there will be drop off locations at the Stratton Activities Building and Flagler Senior Center = addresses are on the webpage. They will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with two sets of election judges changing shifts at 12:45 p.m.  The bi-partisan teams will bring their ballot box from Stratton and Flagler to the VSPC in Burlington for processing at the end of each shift.
